# Sync Google Drive Sources

> Keep Google Drive files automatically synced with NotebookLM using Web Clipper. Docs, Slides, Sheets, and PDFs stay up to date for accurate AI-powered analysis.

When you add Google Drive files—Docs, Slides, Sheets, or PDFs—as sources in NotebookLM, Web Clipper for NotebookLM can keep them synchronized with the latest version. This ensures your AI-powered analysis always reflects your most recent edits.

## How it works

NotebookLM sources from Google Drive can become outdated when the original file changes. Web Clipper provides two ways to keep them in sync: manual sync for on-demand updates, or automatic sync for hands-free synchronization.

## Sync sources manually

You can sync any Google Drive source directly from NotebookLM:

1. Open your notebook in NotebookLM
2. Find the source you want to sync in your sources list
3. Click the **vertical ellipsis** (⋮) next to the source name
4. Select **Sync with Google Drive** to update this individual source, or **Sync All with Google Drive** to refresh all Google Drive sources
5. The source will update with the latest content from Google Drive

## Enable automatic sync

For hands-free synchronization, enable automatic sync through the extension's side panel:

1. Click the **Web Clipper for NotebookLM** extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the side panel
2. Navigate to the **Sync** tab
3. Open the notebook you want to configure
4. Click the **gear icon** next to the notebook title
5. Toggle on **Auto-sync with Google Drive**

Once enabled, your Google Drive sources will stay current without any manual intervention.

## How automatic sync works

With automatic sync enabled:

* Sources sync approximately every 5 minutes while you're actively working
* Sources sync when you open the notebook or switch back to its tab
* A sync indicator appears in NotebookLM showing the current sync status and how long ago the last sync occurred

## What you can do with synced sources

Keeping your sources synchronized ensures:

* Your AI summaries and responses reflect the latest document edits
* Collaborative documents stay current as team members make changes
* Version-sensitive analysis remains accurate over time
* No manual re-uploading when source files are updated
