# Installation

> Install the Web Clipper for NotebookLM Chrome extension in under a minute. Add it from the Chrome Web Store, pin it to your toolbar, and start clipping.

Getting started with Web Clipper for NotebookLM takes less than a minute.

## Install from Chrome Web Store

1. Visit the [Web Clipper for NotebookLM](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ancgeemmgnlempppapnfkdpghghphgjb) page on the Chrome Web Store
2. Click **Add to Chrome**
3. Confirm by clicking **Add extension** in the popup

The extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar.

## Pin the extension (recommended)

To keep the extension easily accessible:

1. Click the puzzle icon in your Chrome toolbar
2. Find **Web Clipper for NotebookLM** in the list
3. Click the pin icon next to it

## Permissions explained

During installation, Chrome will ask you to grant a few permissions:

| Permission                                    | Why it's needed                                 |
| --------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Read and change data on notebooklm.google.com | To save clips and manage your notebooks         |
| Read and change data on accounts.google.com   | To list and switch between your Google accounts |
| Cookies                                       | To detect when you sign in or out of Google     |
| Storage                                       | To remember your preferences locally            |
