This Privacy Policy explains how Goldcoast Labs ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Web Clipper for NotebookLM Chrome extension ("the Extension").

The Extension lets you save web content to Google NotebookLM. To do this, it processes certain information locally in your browser and collects limited usage data to improve the product.

This Privacy Policy follows the transparency principles outlined in privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. If future versions of the Extension introduce additional data processing, we will update this policy accordingly.

The Extension processes only the information necessary to provide its functionality and improve reliability.

  • Your selected Google account and notebook

We do not store the content you clip on our own servers. Clipped content is sent directly to Google NotebookLM.

Analytics

The Extension and this website use PostHog for product analytics. Analytics help us understand how the Extension is used and identify bugs or usability issues.

Extension Analytics

The Extension collects limited pseudonymous usage data, including:

  • A pseudonymous analytics identifier
  • A pseudonymized Google Account identifier to distinguish usage across accounts
  • Feature usage events (for example, extension opens and clipping actions)
  • Page URLs at the time of clipping, collected only to understand content types
  • Error logs and diagnostics
  • Ratings or feedback when you choose to submit them

The Extension does not collect:

  • The content of the pages you clip
  • Session recordings
  • Your general browsing activity

Website Analytics

Our website collects standard analytics data such as:

  • Pages visited and navigation patterns
  • Button clicks and interactions
  • Device and browser information
  • Approximate location at the country or region level

  • Analytics data is processed and stored by PostHog on EU-based servers
  • We do not operate application servers or store user content

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data.

  • Google NotebookLM, to perform clipping actions you initiate
  • PostHog, to process analytics data on our behalf

No advertising networks or data brokers are used.

Third-Party Services

The Extension integrates with Google NotebookLM. Your use of NotebookLM is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

The Extension is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google LLC.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Managing or removing locally stored preferences through Chrome
  • Uninstalling the Extension to stop all data processing
  • Requesting deletion of analytics data by contacting us through the Chrome Web Store listing

Data Retention

  • Local preferences remain until you remove them
  • Analytics data is retained according to PostHog's retention settings

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under 13. Use requires a Google account and is subject to Google's age requirements.
